Just got some Skvlt demo tapes and some Sea of Shit EP’s from the almighty PRGNT records!
Sea of Shit is the latest addition to PRGNT record’s lineup and I am extremely excited to have this in my inventory! Expect a grimey power violence car crash of a release, that will “make you feel sick after listening to it.” 5 bucks for an intense and memorable 45rpm 7” on black.
SKVLT plays a style of lo fi “blackened hardcore” like nothing I have ever heard. In to many cases these days, bands will throw together a Bone Awl or Ildjarn marching riff and throw some shrill screamer in the mix and form a “black metal band”. I feel that SKVLT sticks to a primal foundation of hardcore, but sprinkles their black metal influences here and there, enough to keep this release interesting for listeners of both backgrounds. 3 bucks for a reeeeeeeeeeeal “ripper”!
I talked to Jason from the Bay Area’s Instincts about possibly doing a cassette release for his band. He told me he was very interested in my proposal, but he’d have to get back to me when his band gets more serious. Keep your fingers crossed you guys! And Happy New Year!
