Bare Character/ Die Rot: Deadmoths CS review

Now, I'll be honest. I've never given "power electronics" the time of day before the gentleman at Bare Character offered to send me this tape in exchange for a review. When BC was explaining to me what I should be expecting within the contents of this cassette, I had developed an unsteady anticipation. Anticipation turned into eagerness, and when i got the package I was beyond excited. First thing I do is pop in the Deadmoths tape and wait hungrily for some kind of Eraserhead soundtrack listening experience. (I have had no previous "power electronics" experience before this tape)

As soon as I pressed play the sounds toppled over one another. Layer upon layer of industrial impurities construct a blackened void that lashes and grips at ones nervous system, impairing the listener to do nothing but absorb and become the sound waves. BC told me that making these sound compilations is therapeutic to some such as himself, and after hearing the Deadmoths tape, I can totally see how that is. When you listen to this tape, you enter a trance that is terrifyingly difficult to pull yourself out of. Deadmoths cassette is 30 minutes of isolation therapy. An abrasive yet meditative listening process. For those who listen to sounds not just with their ears but with their whole beings as well.
